Ø Eligibility Criteria for First Year Engineering

·         Eligibility criteria for admission of Maharashtra State and OMS candidate to First year degree courses in Engineering / Technology:

Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC (Std.XII)  examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology /Biology/ Technical Vocational subject

AND

 

Secured minimum 50 % marks (minimum 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories

and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the subjects  Physics,

Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject added together

AND

Obtained a positive Composite score* i.e., marks obtained after adding 50% of JEE (Main)2015 (Paper 1) marks and 50% of normalized Standard

XII (Board or Equivalent Examination) marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Note: 1) * The details for calculating positive Composite score shall be notified separately.

          2) Refer Rule No 2.11 regarding Rounding off of percentage of marks for deciding the eligibility, if applicable.

 

Eligibility Criteria for All India Candidates:

Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and

Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology /Biology/ Technical

Vocational subject

AND

Note: 1) Maharashtra Candidates eligible as per rule 2.1 and 2.2 shall submit single Application and Option form for the CAP for both Maharashtra State Seats and All India Seats. Such candidates will be given best single allotment through CAP as per inter‐se‐merit.
2) Refer Rule No 2.11 regarding Rounding off of percentage of marks for deciding the eligibility, if applicable

 

Eligibility criteria for Candidates who are Persons with Disability

In addition to the basic qualification mentioned in rule no. 2.1, candidate who is suffering from any one of the following permanent disability is eligible to seek admission against seats for Persons with Disability candidates

• Candidate who is visually impaired (blind) candidate (type P1)

• Candidate who is speech & hearing impaired (deaf & dumb) candidate (type P2)

• Candidate who is with orthopedic disorders, learning disabilities, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphica, Spastic (type P3)

Note: The certificate (Proforma F/F‐1) should clearly state that the extent of disability is more than

40% and the disability is permanent in nature.



 


 

Ø Eligibility Criteria for Direct Second Year Engineering

1.       The Candidate must be an Indian National

2.       He / She must have passed Post-SSC or Post-HSC Diploma Course in Engineering/Technology with at least 45 % marks (40 % marks in the case of candidates from Back-ward class and Physically Handicapped categories belonging to the State of Maharashtra only) in the appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology from an AICTE approved Institution with English as the medium of instruction at Diploma level.

3.       The Candidate must be an Indian National

4.        He /She must  have  passed B.Sc. Degree from a UGC /Association of Indian Universities recognized University with at least 45% marks (40 % marks in the case of candidates from Back-ward class and Physically Handicapped categories belonging to the State of Maharashtra only).

Ø Eligibility Criteria for First Year ME

Ø  BE /BTECH or Equivalent degree from the recognized University/institute with at Least 50% Marks at Bachelors degree.

Ø  Candidate appearing for May 2016 degree exam may also apply. Such candidate will have to submit the documents of the result of the qualifying examination on or before 31st July 2016.

Ø  Sponsored candidate must be serving in an academic institute/industry/R&D organization for minimum 02 years in the respective field. Candidate should furnish the sponsorship letter from their parent organization at the time of entrance examination. Candidate with valid GATE score will be given preference.

Ø Eligibility For Ph.D

For admission to the Ph.D. program in a related subject in the faculty, applicants fulfilling the following criteria shall be treated as eligible:

a)      Persons having passed Post Graduate Degree (Master Degree) Examination with at least 50% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA). 

OR

b)      Persons working in National Laboratories- Institutes/Government/ Private Organization nominated/sponsored by the respective employer. These persons should have a Post Graduate Degree and holding rank of Assistant Director / or above.

OR

c)       Persons with exceptional abilities passed Graduate Degree Examination with 50% of marks and with 15 years experience after graduation in related fields. In such cases exceptional abilities will be decided by the Research and Recognition Committee.

d)      Senior citizen of age 60 years and above with graduate degree. In exceptional cases at the discretion of Vice-Chancellor for Senior citizen.

e)      A Graduate in any faculty who has developed important new techniques (new for the country) or designed and fabricated special instruments or apparatus which are deemed by competent judge to be a valuable contributions to engineering may be permitted by the Research and Recognition Committee of concerned faculty on the recommendation of the appropriate Board or Boards of Studies to submit his thesis for the Ph.D. Degree in that faculty. Such a candidates must have at least five years standing as a Bachelor of concerned faculty.

Entrance Examination

Entrance Examination will be normally conducted once a year and two admission cycles consecutively by university of Pune. It is necessary for Students.

Exemption for Entrance Examination:

The candidates fulfilling one of the following conditions will be exempted from Entrance examination.

A.     Qualified in GATE (valid score) examination of the apex bodies as CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DBT and DST inspire fellowship only.

B.     Five years of approved teaching experience.

The Registration form should be submitted by the exempted candidates before interview within stipulated time with relevant supporting documents.

I) :  Department who offer the Scholarship & Free ship

1.         The student from the OBC, NT SC. & SBC category may avail the facility of scholarship & free ship from the  social welfare dept.
